Get Unstuck. Reclaim Your Purpose. Win Today.

About Chris

Welcome, my friend. Maybe you’ve arrived here frustrated with a relationship, disappointed by a significant loss, without a sense of purpose for your life, worn out, tired, or just feel stuck in life and don’t know how to get from where you are today to where you want to be tomorrow. If so, I know you don’t want to look back at your life in a year (or five years) and ask yourself how did I end up here?

Maybe…you just want to get unstuck and reclaim your purpose in a life that never stops moving.

If that’s you, I know exactly how you feel and am here to help.

Hi! I’m Chris. Welcome to my personal blog. I am a consultant and leadership coach. I know firsthand that life can be really messy. After experiencing the traumatic loss of my mom after her 18 year battle with cancer, I can attest to the fact that for a lot of people, conquering the world isn’t as much as a priority as conquering Monday and being a champion of everyday life, especially when they can’t seem to get unstuck after life has unloaded setbacks and unrelenting disappointment.

Can you relate to these regular readers?

  • “Chris, I am desperate to learn how to overcome mindsets that are blocking my growth.”
  • “Chris, how in the world do I get past the effects of a broken, dysfunctional relationship?”
  • “How do I make time for all of my relationships, my spouse, my kids, and still have time for me?!”
  • “Chris, I have a lot of dreams and aspirations, but can’t seem to get past the past and move forward in life. I feel stuck!! Help!!”

If your answer is “yes,” you’re in the right place. It’s for that reason that I help motivated but overwhelmed men and women get unstuck in life after experiencing crisis, loss, and disappointment so that they have a clear path and tools to get from where they are to where they want to be. But it all starts when you’ll allow me to guide you with clarity and courage to take a step forward to…

WIN TODAY.

A bit more about me…

After attending high school at a parochial college-prep institution in Michigan, I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in Marketing, from City University of Seattle. Though I have always been drawn to business and leadership, I discovered that the motivation to pursue those things was fueled by the desire to help people discover and develop their own potential. As a writer, I’m a regular contributor to SUCCESS Magazine and The Church Collective.

As a musician…

Growing up in suburban-Detroit, I found my passion for music at the age of eight. Living in a city rich with music history, I was quickly influenced by the sounds of Motown, R&B, and Gospel. Coupled with a love of soulful music and driving pop, an early foundation of formal training and music theory developed my technique, form, and style as a musician. At age 20, I had the opportunity to study under the late Bess Bonnier, one of Detroit’s most formidable jazz pianists. Ten years later, in 2012, I was invited to play Motown and R&B music at a private dinner for President Barack Obama. In 2014, I played for a sold-out crowd of over 22,000 people at a nationally-televised Detroit Red Wings playoff game. Additionally, I have had the privilege of playing on songs that have been licensed for film, television, and major motion picture releases. Today, my approach to sound design and style is heavily influenced by artists such as Coldplay, Sigur Rós, One Republic, Keane, Maroon 5, The Killers, Bruno Mars, Musiq Soulchild, and Fred Hammond. Their influence is evident in the vast array of styles represented in my work, both live and in-studio.

In my spare time…

I enjoy reading, traveling, culinary arts, exercising, and watching NBA basketball.

“Through many years on the road I’ve met many people from all over the country that get to use their musical talents for the church. I was blessed to get to know Chris early on in my journey. We’d cross paths every once in a while and every time we had the opportunity to talk and catch up I couldn’t help but be inspired by his zeal, personal integrity, and his passion for the church and willingness to serve through music. But it’s not just his musical talents that shine in the work he does, it’s his love of Christ and his desire to see Him glorified. Chris’ passion for music is inspiring to me. He gives his all to every project and loves to pour into the opportunities God places before him.” – Chris Rohman, guitarist/founding member, Sanctus Real

“As a music professional who’s had the opportunity to travel the world, working with some of the best in the business has been a blessing and an honor. There are certain people who have stood out to me. Chris Cook is one of those people. I am honored to know and have worked with Chris, second to none as a musician and person.” – Terry Lesperance, drummer/producer/systems tech (Nashville, TN)

Chris can serve any moment and environment as well as anyone I’ve seen. He possesses the rare and ideal combination of raw talent, hard work, and being a consummate professional. His aptitude is through the roof, he reads and understands moments effectively, knows how to prepare and communicate, and most importantly is a servant leader. People could either attend a clinic and listen to him speak, or just follow him around for a week and take notes because he’s a perfect example of what any music director, church leader, or producer prays for when looking for someone to be a part of their team.” – Bryon Rossi, producer, Kensington Church (Troy, MI)
