You Told Me What You Really Wanted…So Here It Is!

My 2015 Mid-Year Reader Survey results are in and I’m committed to bring you content that is even better than ever, including changes and improvements that you, my valuable readers, have requested. This is the second reader survey I have conducted in the nine months my blog has been live and I have benefited enormously each time results have returned to me. Ultimately, though, I believe it benefits you, because it helps me improve the content I create here on the blog and in planning for future projects…like my soon coming WinToday Lifecast™.

You spoke. I listened.

To me, it’s kind of like television ratings.

Forget the Sweeps

You know how television networks take the summer to gear-up for a slammin’ fall season? Well…I may not have taken the summer off, but I certainly am gearing-up to bring you a great lineup of content starting in September.

And I’m not skimping on quality, either.

A couple weeks ago, many of you helped me out immensely by providing feedback about my blog. As you might remember, I asked what you like best about the blog, what you think I could improve upon, in which areas of life you’re struggling (areas in which I should write about more), and which content resonates with you most.

Survey Says…

Let’s cut to chase. Here’s what you said:

  • 82% of you said that my Relationships & Communication category was your favorite, followed by Personal Growth (68%), Health & Wellness (50%), then Leadership (40%).
  • Over 90% of you told me that you’d love to read more about spiritual growth. So guess what? Your wish is my command. Starting next week, I’m adding a brand-new Spiritual Growth category to the blog. In it, I’m going to straight-shoot Kingdom principles, bathed in discipleship, distilled into practical, easy-to-apply strategies for your everyday life that reflect the heart of Jesus for you…’cause guess what? Revelation of His love for you will change your life forever.
  • On that note, I’m going to dive even deeper into relationships and communication (including issues like forgiveness, betrayal, self-talk, etc.), dealing with discouragement, and successfully navigating through crisis, loss, and disappointment. I’ll also write about mentoring, taking your goals and dreams and breaking them down into step-by-step action items so that you get from where you are today to where you want to be tomorrow. Additionally, I’ll address current events as they apply to our lives.
  • 61% of you told me that you like the current length of my blog posts. So, for about half the time, I’ll continue to write between 800-1,000 words per post. But on a more intentional basis, I will write shorter, quick-read posts that you can digest while getting ready in the morning or while on your lunch break.
  • In terms of improvements, here’s what I’m going to implement immediately: every week, I’m going to broadcast a WinToday Lifecast on Periscope (it’s a free app available for Android and iPhone). It will be a 15-minute format: 12 minutes of content and three minutes of questions. Of course, it’s completely live, but you’ll be able to catch the replay if you miss out. As of right now, it will be Tuesday evenings at 8PM EST. If you’ve not yet experienced Periscope, do it. It’s awesome. You can find me at @00ChrisCook where I’ll exclusively use the #WinToday hashtag identifier. If you can’t join me on Periscope, I’m working to make the video available on my YouTube channel. Soon after, the WinToday Lifecast will be an audio podcast, available for free download on iTunes.
  • I’ll also be including links to great resources (books, courses, teaching) as applicable per post.

Final Thoughts

One of the greatest takeaways I gained from the survey responses is that you love my transparency. So with that, I promise to always write from a perspective that is personal, honest, and practical, even when it means sharing my personal challenges and failures. This I know: it makes you feel you are not alone.

I can’t thank you enough for investing your time into my work. I don’t take it for granted. Thanks for trusting me with your heart. My purpose is simply this: to provide the clarity and courage you need to win today.

I believe in you. Thanks for believing in me.
